Financial literacy becomes more meaningful when students can see the history behind the systems they learn about.
Our Grade 5, 6 & 7 learners explored the evolution of Indian currency through an educational visit to Rezwan Razack’s Museum of Indian Paper Money.
The experience brought together multiple areas of learning financial literacy, history, research and language development.
Students examined how currency has evolved over time while connecting historical evidence with broader ideas of economic systems, national identity and society.
The experience also encouraged learners to:

• Ask meaningful questions
• Build research and inquiry skills
• Expand subject-specific vocabulary
• Connect financial concepts with historical context
• Communicate their understanding with greater clarity
